Bow Fiddle Rock is a natural sea arch near Portknockie on the north-eastern coast of Scotland. It is so called because it resembles the tip of a fiddle bow.

Wiki Trivia - These rocks were folded when the ancient continents of Laurentia and Avalonia collided during the Caledonian Orogeny.

As with most of the destinations I have painted in this collection they are places of outstanding natural beauty, ethereal and other worldly. Even the geological stories behind them would give this impression, as if they were formed on another planet. It is a very special planet, mind blowingly improbable, and the only one we know of like it.

The original painting of 'Bow Fiddle Rock' was painted in 2020 with acrylic paint on Hahnemühle bamboo paper 265gsm.

This is also the centre panel of the British Isles III triptych. It is available as a panoramic archival limited edition print 90 x 40cm.

The dimensions of the visible painting are 29.5cm x 39.5cm, with the total size is 30cm x 40cm which includes a 0.5cm border. The painting is signed by the artist. Enclosed with the painting is also a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.

The painting will be shipped flat, wrapped in tissue paper, placed into an acid free sleeve then secured between several layers of two ply cardboard.
