The La Hougue Bie passage grave was constructed by some of Jersey’s earliest inhabitants, as both a tomb and a place for the living to engage in rituals and ceremonies. Unlike many other dolmens, you can stand inside its chamber and feel the atmosphere of this profoundly sacred space. The tomb is so aligned that the interior is illuminated by the rising sun on the spring and autumn equinox.

Painted without any mixing medium, letting the acrylic go nearly off and quickly pulling across the paper surface. Consecutive layers buildup the colour. Mark making with dry paint. A bit different but I use it quite a bit, with oil paint I would use a very dry rag with a tiny amount of paint, rub most it off then apply remainder to dry paper or dry canvas. Go heavy and it doesn't work, go light in layers and it will.

The original painting of 'La Hougue Bie' was painted in 2019 with acrylic paint on Hahnemühle bamboo paper 265gsm.

The dimensions of the visible painting are 29.5cm x 39.5cm, with the total size is 30cm x 40cm which includes a 0.5cm border. The painting is signed by the artist. Enclosed with the painting is also a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.

The painting will be shipped flat, wrapped in tissue paper, placed into an acid free sleeve then secured between several layers of two ply cardboard.
