'The Wave'.

This painting is a semi abstract landscape and seascape, with collage, that encompasses elements and views of the St. Helier Marina Jersey. Boats, water, structure, masts, buildings and waves. The upscaled wave, centre picture, was taken from a detail of a previous painting, 'Behind a face'. As with elements of other paintings I investigate them further and scale them up as a continual practice development. As with all my palettes it was dependent on the first colour chosen and then progressed from there, without being predetermined. The three boats in shore relate to three human beings and their lives at sea.

The original painting of 'The Wave' was painted in 2022 with acrylic paint on Saunders Waterford 400gsm watercolour paper with collage embellishments, dimensions 54cm x 74cm.
